Privacy Policy
Rekindle works without an account. Your answers, plan progress, streak and journal live on your device. Signing in with your email is optional and only exists so your progress can be restored on a new phone.
Who we are
Rekindle is published by Dode Yazılım (“we”). Data controller contact: [email protected].
What stays on your device
Your onboarding answers (who ended the relationship, how long ago, reasons, current contact, safety flags), your reconciliation score, the day-by-day plan, completed steps, no-contact streak, contact slips, SOS moments and journal entries are stored locally on your phone. If you never sign in, none of this leaves your device except the AI requests described below.
Optional account and cloud backup
If you sign in with a one-time email code, we store your email address and a generated account identifier with our hosting provider Supabase (EU region). Your assessment, plan progress and journal entries are then backed up to your account so they can be restored on another device. Backups are protected by row-level security: only your own account can read or write them. Signing out stops the backup; deleting your account removes it.
AI coaching features
The Coach, “Check my draft”, “Decode their reply” and SOS tools send the text you type, together with a short summary of your plan state (track, day, streak, score band), to our server function, which forwards it to OpenAI to generate a response. OpenAI processes this text under its API terms and does not use API data to train its models. We keep a minimal usage record (account identifier, tool name, timestamp) to enforce daily limits. We do not store the text of your messages beyond what is needed to return the answer to you. Your journal is never sent to any AI service.
Before any text reaches the AI, it is screened on our server for signs of danger to you or others. If such signs are found, the request is not sent to the AI and the app shows safety resources instead.
Purchases
In-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google and by RevenueCat, which receives your app-scoped account identifier and purchase receipts to unlock the Plan or Pro features and to restore purchases. We never see your payment card details.
Crash and performance diagnostics
The app includes Sentry for crash reports. When the app crashes or a request fails, Sentry receives a technical report: error type and stack trace, app version, operating system and device model. No screenshots and no message text are attached. This is required for the app to run reliably and cannot be switched off in the app.
Anonymous usage analytics
To understand which screens are used, the app sends anonymous events (for example “onboarding step completed”, “task completed”) to PostHog (EU). Events are not linked to your email or account and never contain what you write. You can turn this off at any time in Settings → “Share anonymous usage data”.
Reminders
The daily step reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device. No push server is involved and no data is sent anywhere to deliver it.
What we do not do
- No advertising networks, no ad identifiers, no tracking across apps.
- No sale or sharing of personal data for marketing.
- No reading of your contacts, photos, location or messages.
Legal basis and retention
We process data to provide the features you request (contract), to keep the service secure and to enforce usage limits (legitimate interest). Account data is kept until you delete your account. Usage records are kept for up to 90 days. Crash reports are kept by Sentry for 90 days.
Your rights
You can access, export, correct or delete your data. Deleting your account inside the app (Settings → Account → Delete my account) permanently removes your account and all backed-up data. You can also email [email protected] or use the data deletion page. Under GDPR and KVKK you may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Not a medical or crisis service
Rekindle offers relationship coaching content and is not therapy, medical care or emergency help. If you are in danger, use your device’s emergency call feature or visit findahelpline.com.
Children
Rekindle is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
We will post updates to this page and change the effective date above. Material changes will be announced in the app.
